Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. Using the app without an account
Logging in is optional. Notes, papers, quizzes, programs and the Python Lab all work without an account. Without an account, we do not receive your name or email address.
2. Information we collect
- Name, email address and profile picture (from Google): only if you log in with Google. Used to create your CSIP12 account, the same account you use on csip12.in.
- School name: only if you add it. Used for school rankings on the leaderboard.
- Completed chapters, quiz scores, XP and bookmarks: only if you are logged in. Used to sync your progress with csip12.in and show it on the leaderboard.
- Coin balance and coin history: only if you are logged in. Used to keep your coins with your account.
- App usage and device information: collected by Google Analytics for Firebase, to understand how the app is used and to fix problems.
- Advertising ID, IP address, device and ad interaction data: collected by Google AdMob when ads are shown, to show, measure and limit ads, and to prevent fraud.
Your name and school name may be shown on the public leaderboard.
We never see your Google password. Sign-in is handled by Google.
3. Coins
You earn coins for daily check-ins, finishing chapters, quizzes and optional rewarded ads. Coins are used for Python Lab runs.
- Not logged in: coins are stored only on your device. They are lost if you uninstall the app or clear its data.
- Logged in: your balance and coin history are stored with your CSIP12 account.
When you choose to watch a rewarded ad, Google sends our server a confirmation that the ad was completed, together with your CSIP12 account number, so the coins can be added. Rewarded ads are always optional.
4. Data stored on your device
Your class and subject, settings, bookmarks, recent chapters, guest coins and downloaded question papers are stored on your device. Your login session is kept in encrypted storage on your device.
5. Python Lab
Your code runs entirely on your device. The Python engine (Pyodide) is downloaded from a public content delivery network (jsDelivr) the first time you use the Lab. The code you write is not sent to or stored on our servers.
6. Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to record how the app is used: screens opened, quizzes taken, features used, app version, device model, Android version, approximate location (country or region) and an app instance ID. We use this only to improve the app. See Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Advertising
The app shows ads from Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, app open and optional rewarded ads). AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and similar data to show ads, including personalised ads.
- Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first, and can change their choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
- Anyone can reset their advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Android Settings → Google → Ads.

8. Third-party services
- Google Sign-In (Google): optional login
- Google Analytics for Firebase (Google): app usage statistics
- Google AdMob (Google): ads
- Google Play in-app updates and reviews (Google): updates and app ratings
- jsDelivr (content delivery network): downloading the Python engine
9. Sharing and security
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to our database is restricted. Data is shared only with the services listed above, for the purposes listed.
10. Permissions
The app only needs internet access. It does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location.
11. Deleting your data
- On your device: log out from Me, or clear the app's data in Android settings, or uninstall the app.
- Your account: email us from the address you log in with and ask us to delete your account. We will delete your account and the data stored with it (name, email, school, progress, scores and coins) within 30 days.
12. Children and students under 18
The app is made for Class 11 and 12 students, so many users are under 18. If you are under 18, please log in and use the leaderboard only with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Updated versions are included with app updates.
