Privacy Policy – Clipboard Manager - Snip It
Clipboard Manager - Snip It (Android app, package in.narayaninfo.snip_it) is published by Narayan Info. This policy explains what the app accesses, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. Your clipboard data stays on your device
Everything you save in Snip It — clipboard history, snippets, categories, favourites, and items in the locked vault — is stored only on your device.
- Snip It has no account, no login, and no cloud storage.
- We never upload, sell, or share your snippets or clipboard content.
- Vault items are encrypted on your device (AES-256-GCM) and protected by your fingerprint, face unlock, or device PIN. Your biometric data is handled by Android and never reaches the app.
- Export / backup files are created only when you choose to, and saved or shared only where you choose.
- Text scanning (OCR) from the camera or gallery runs entirely on your device. Images and recognized text are never uploaded. Optional language packs are downloaded once; nothing is sent from your device to download them.
2. Permissions and why they are used
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Accessibility Service: Snip It (Clipboard Manager) (optional) | Only to detect when you copy text, so it can be saved to your clipboard history automatically, and to restart the floating clipboard if Android closes it. It does not read screen content, record keystrokes, collect passwords, or act on other apps. You can turn it off at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility. |
| Accessibility Service: Snip It Text Expander (optional, off by default) | Lets you type a shortcut you created (for example ;addr) in any app and replaces it with the saved snippet. To do this it reads the text of the field you are typing in and compares it with your shortcuts, then inserts the snippet into that field. This happens only on your device: typed text is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere. Password fields are always skipped, and locked (vault) snippets are never inserted. Snip It asks for your consent before you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility. |
| Display over other apps (optional) | Shows the Floating Quick Clipboard bubble when you enable it. |
| Foreground service & notifications | Keeps the floating clipboard running and shows the notification that lets you turn it off. |
| Camera (optional) | Scans text with the camera, only when you start a scan. |
| Run at startup | Restores the floating clipboard after a restart, only if you enabled it. |
3. Information collected by third-party services
The free version of Snip It is supported by ads and uses anonymous usage statistics. These services are provided by Google and never receive your clipboard content or snippets.
Google AdMob (ads) may collect:
- Advertising ID / app set ID
- IP address, used to estimate approximate location
- Ad interactions and diagnostic information
Used to show ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.
Google Firebase Analytics collects:
- App instance ID
- App opens, sessions, screens viewed, install and update events
- Device model, Android version, and country
Used to understand how the app is used and improve it.
Snip It Pro purchases are processed by Google Play. We never receive your card or payment details; Google Play only tells the app whether you have an active Pro purchase. Snip It Pro users see no ads, and the AdMob SDK is not started for them.
All of this data is encrypted in transit. Learn how Google uses this information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
4. Your choices
- Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, and can change their choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
- Delete your Snip It data at any time: delete snippets in the app, or clear the app's storage / uninstall the app. Because nothing is stored on our servers, no other deletion is needed.
5. Children
Snip It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
